The Journey to Transforming Studio 770's New Multi-media Suite

As the surge of popularity in podcasting and live streaming seem to break through in this new generation, Studio 770 has chosen to hop onto this bandwagon and design a supportive space for those looking to establish themselves in this digital media world. We offer numerous kinds of video production, including podcasting, live streaming (eSports, board games, etc.), as well as, post-production video editing. This blog post high-lights the challenging endeavor we, as a family here at Studio 770, took in order to transform a forgotten office space into a modern, charming, functionally dynamic work-space to satisfy the needs of a growing community of creative talent.

Our journey starts November 1, 2023, when our first day of construction began! What was initially planned as an extension of our wonderful Studio A (intended to serve as both a lounge and additional recording space) has shifted direction due to increased interest in video production, particularly podcasting. This new demand has prompted us to rethink our expansion and explore opportunities in the visual format. We saw this as a fantastic opportunity and a clear sign to dive into this popular avenue of entertainment.

November 1, 2023 was the day it all started, and we quite literally started from the ground up with the Blueberry Video Suite's inception.

Bare walls, bare floors, and a whole lot of work ahead of us!

Teamwork makes the dreamwork, especially when it came to soundproofing with soundboard, drywall and lots of special glue.

Sayonara window! Hello, new large format HDTV space!

The room's only window was boarded in with fiberglass and mass loaded vinyl.

After a long time coming, the last installation of drywall is finally coming to an end.

After taping and mudding, we finally get a break from the chaos and can now appreciate the calm.

Home Depot became our home away from home, not just for paint and primer, but practically all the building materials. As we were paint-stakingly trying to find the best color that would suit the suite, the color English Channel called out to us and we just knew it was going to be a perfect match for our Blueberry theme!

These wall studs are the precursors to the new storage cabinets that would go on to house all our equipment; computer, cameras, microphones, and much more.

Sticking with Studio 770's iconic color palette, these teal green wood panels truly complete the look of the cabinets, adding slight contrast to the Blueberry colors to follow.

Above is the rail system for multiple cameras and lights; allowing for easy movement of the gear when recording various video podcast setups.

These are fiberglass acoustic panels about to be hung for the purpose of preventing acoustic reflections during video production.

Let there be light!...

Color accent lights are attached above the cabinets to add a vibrant vibe to the room.

To set the mood, we hung our 75" HDTV, complete with a toasty fireplace. This will be used for video playbacks, as well as, interviews from zoom guests calling in.

This is the center cabinet which houses microphone input and headphone output plates. These are the stages of its building and design, with every aspect of the suite being custom designed and hand built.

To give the studio a bit more pizzazz, LED lights have been attached to the backside of the acoustic panels
